Treehouse Theatre Summer Camps 2012-2013
Pensacola Little Theatre's Education Department provides training and guidance to help performers, designers, directors and technicians of all ages create magic on the stage. Summer camps give young artists ample opportunity to develop, practice and hone the skills needed to present a professional and polished theatrical production.
All summer camps except Shakespeare camp culminate in the performance of a play. In addition to rehearsing and performing, campers are involved in every aspect of production: they design and build sets, find and/or make props, and help with costuming. Summer Stars campers also help design lights and sound. Puppet campers will construct the puppets they will use for the final performance.

class descriptions:
Creative Drama: Young campers, age 5 to 7, spend two weeks preparing a short stage show, which they present to family members in the classroom. Creative Drama camp teaches basic storytelling skills and introduces small children to the theatrical process.*If parents sign kids up for both sessions, they get an additional discount. Both weeks will cost a total of $300.
Break-a-Leg: Campers 8 to 10 years old spend two weeks preparing a stage show, which they present to family members in the classroom. Students learn how to develop a character while participating in every step of the theatrical production process.
Summer Stars: In this longer, more intensive camp, students ages 11 to 15 spend four weeks preparing a stage show, which they present to family members and friends on a professional stage at the Pensacola Cultural Center. Students beginning a more serious study of acting will learn advanced techniques, both for character development and physical control.
Shakespeare Camp: Campers will study alongside members of the Southeastern Teen Shakespeare Company as they develop a deeper understanding of Elizabethan language and learn to apply modern acting techniques to the work of the Bard.
Puppet Camp: Campers get to create their own, unique puppets and will learn how to manipulate them. Students will then put on a full-length puppet show.
